The Heart is owned and managed by the local community as a Scottish Incorporated Charity (SCIO).
Our Board of Trustees is elected by, and accountable to, our members!
Membership Types
Ordinary Members live within the designated Area of Benefit. They can attend and vote at general meetings, and can stand for election as a Trustees.
Associate Members live outside the Area of Benefit. They can attend general meetings and share opinions, but do not have the right to vote or to stand for election as Trustees.
Members have ultimate control
We need as many members as possible to ensure we are representative of community interests.
It is therefore really important that we continue to increase our membership and show that we are supported by an increasing number of our community.

What is our Area of Benefit?
Our constitution includes details of our geographic area (Area of Benefit).
This stretches from the edge of Leith (Citadel Place) to the edge of Granton (Granton Road), and Ferry Road to Edinburgh Tabernacle, the other boundary being the Firth of Forth.
